This is a great exercise to increase the extension range of motion in your knee. Why? Because all knees should have some amount of hyper-extension AND you need to be able to get there actively….unless you want to keep stressing the underside of your kneecap and patellar tendon for no reason. This is also a good way to start engaging the muscles that “unlock” the knee from full extension.
